So Chris and I have been working on our weeblys for our learning modules this whole past week. They've been coming along pretty well so far. Im mostly focusing on the Goals Reflection Map. In this module, the students are supposed to reflect on the personal and field related goals that they have for the future. Not only are the students supposed to think about the goals, they are also supposed to contemplate the routes in which they will fulfill those goals. Goals are accomplished through time and hard work so it's important that students realize the steps in which they need to take in order for those goals to come to life. So anyways, the students are supposed to use SpicyNodes in order to diagram their goals. I think it's coming along pretty well so far and should be failry easy, but good for the students to do.

I don't know if anyone else has had any trouble using Weebly, but I have found it quite frusturating a few times when I've been using it. I can't seem to find an undo/redo button which would be really helpful. For the longest time I was trying to do a bulleted list and it would change my whole format for the paragraph and other times delete everything I had done to that page. I think I've reposted one particular picture at least 6 times already. Luckily I've saved everything that I've posted in a Word document so nothing is lost forever when it has disappeared :)

  1. That sounds like a pretty cool learning module and I am interested in seeing it. I liked using the Weebly but agree that there are some problems with editing paragraphs on it. I also used microsoft word to type everything up and then copied and pasted it to the weebly site. Like you, I also could not find an undo button so hopefully they will add that feature in the future. Instead of using a bulleted list I ended up using a "-" before sentences to form a list structure.

  2. I agree with Chuck; your module does sound like it'll be very interesting, and helpful for clarifying to the students what exactly they're pursuing... hard to prepare for something if you don't know what that is! I haven't had too much trouble with Weebly, but noticed that the bulleting was a little iffy sometimes, too. I think you're definitely on to something with the 'undo' button idea.

  3. Ya I ended up using a ~ for my bullets and actually typing 1. , 2. , etc. for my numbered lists. And the undo button would be extremely helpful! I did enjoy using it because it made website creation fairly easy, I would just makes some more tweaks to the formatting system.
